The Government of Spain approves the BIOGAS Roadmap with three key challenges
The Council of Ministers, at the proposal of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), has approved on March 22, the Biogas Roadmap. With three key challenges, and now urgent:
Multiply by 3.8 the current production of biogas until 2030, exceeding 10.4 TWh in order to reduce dependence on gas of fossil origin and focused on the recovery of agricultural waste, from agri-food industries, municipal and sewage sludge among others.
Create a system of guarantees of origin, similar to that of renewable electricity, so that consumers can distinguish biogas from conventional fossil gas, valuing its renewable origin; a royal decree in process contemplates said system.
Activated a line of aid of 150 million for singular biogas projects charged to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. A ministerial order with the regulatory bases is in process.
